Held
in alternate years to the Dieppe kite festival in France, this international
festival in Dieppe, Canada, 2007, was spread over 5 days.
Kite flyers from 17 countries were invited to the festival which also featured
kite making workshops, live music and a superb night flying display. Thousands
of spectators from the local communities attended the festival.
During our first vist to Canada we also explored the city of Montreal, visiting
the Musee d'art Contemporain to see the Bruce Nauman exhibition.
Travelled through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia, stayed
briefly at the UNESCO designated heritage town of Lunenburg and visited the
Alexander Graham Bell museum in Baddeck. During our memorable 2 week visit
to Canada we met some fantastic people in a huge country.
The small selection of photographs above represents some of the very talented
kite makers at the festival and includes work by Anke Sauer(Germany);
Robert Trepannier (Canada); John Pollock (USA); Therese Uguen (France); Bas Vreeswijk
